A group of kids are squatting an abandoned house in the middle of Copenhagen. They are the new generation of the anti-fascist and anti-adult movement called Børnemagt (Childrens Power). They fight the inequality of laws towards kids, and fight for a permanent free space for kids in Copenhagen. By occupying old buildings, demonstrating and posting it on Instagram and Facebook, they believe they are fighting a fight for all kids across Denmark. The goal is to determine their own life and influence the laws of the country, so kids can be free. After only five days the police finds the new occupied building, Børnehuset (Kids House), and uses seven hours to clear out the kids.

After a couple of minutes they start running in different directions toward the house, and confuses the police. When they get inside they nail the door shout and climb onto the roof.

They cut out a window in the roof and installed a ladder, so they could flee if the police arrives. The house overlooks a public school and a playground. One of the kindergarten teacher spotted the kids on the roof and called the police.
Børnemagt only takes decisions in a democratic vote. Every day there is a meeting, where you’ll stat by talking about how you feel, and then about all the pratical stuff about the occupied house. They decorated the place with banners, graffiti and old furniture from the street.

If it does not give room to us kids, maybe you should reconsider how important that law is. Why should we follow a law, that does not make sense?”
The group support each other in every way. Some of the kids are very young, and find it hard to stay at home. The dream is to have a place for everybody, except adults. In 2003 the municipality promised a Børnehus (Kids House) to the children in copenhagen. A free space for all kids, but it never happened. Now, 17 years later, the new kids made their own.
After only five days the police cleared out the house and everyone in it. After seven hours of negotiations the kids decided to call it and jumped down to the police to face fines.
A girl writes the lyric from the Danish folk singer Kim Larsen. They plan to sing it out loud if they get arrested inside the building. Many of the kids have been arrested before, and they have pooled money together to pay the fines collectively if they get arrested.
“COPS ARE PIGS!” they yell together while singing songs about the corrupt police and the government. Only the kids over 15 years were sentenced to fines and interrogated by the police. “See you next time,” they comment when someone leaves. They lost this house, but when the fines are paid, they are ready to occupy a new house until they get their freespace, Børnehuset.
