Martin falling asleep as he walks. He is close to overdosing from the heroine, but his body is used to the high amount. He falls asleep several times while he looks for his girlfriend Lina.
Life on the street is an eternal fight. Defeat, prejudice and the biting cold is everyday life. Martin is one of those living their life in the cold. Dreams, needles and love carries him through the night and day. Martin is homeless, a drug addict and in love.
Social inequality in Denmark is on the rise. Never have there been more young people living on the streets. The city of Aarhus alone now have more than 700 registered homeless people under the age of 29.
Martin and Lina have been a couple for five years and been shooting for the last three. Before, they were drinking, but decided heroin was a healthier choice.
Lina, shooting up cocaine. They normally start the day with heroin and continue with cocaine later. Martin shoots up to ten times a day. Lina, a bit less.
They often share the money they get from begging in the street with their close friends. People often ignore them when they shoot up on the streets.
Martin and Lina on they way to the heroin clinic. Aarhus council is operating a clinic, that gives free heroin to the most vulnerable drug addicts.
Martin often gets lost from Lina. They have no phones or watches, so they just keep looking around, while begging for money.
Lina and her friend has found Martin passed out on the ground from a overdose. They help him up and help him overcome the drugs. "Love can pull you through everything," Martin says later.

They often sleep in the underground carparks. The further down, the warmer it is.
Martin dreams of being clean. He hates using drugs and begging for money. One day, he hopes to move to a small farm.
In one of their usual spots, Martin and Lina makes an overview of what they have on them. They need 60$ to buy half a gram of cocaine.
Martin cries as he meets a childhood friend. It has been three years since they last saw each other. Martin cries, as he don't think he will survive another three.
When they shoot up cocaine, they call it 20 seconds of peace. The rush lasts 20 seconds. In total silence they enjoy it. Often hand in hand.
Martin pulls out one of his remaining 9 teeth. It scares him, that his teeth falls out without warning.
"My biggest dream is to be with Lina until the end" Martin says, before he kisses her. Love comes first, then the drugs they say.
